Clintonville, WI (04/30/25) — Schutt Industries, the leading manufacturer of military-grade trailers, has been awarded a new $230,154,899 contract by the U.S. Army to produce the M870A4 Semitrailer, Lowbed, Construction Equipment Transporter (SLCET).

Under this multi-year contract, Schutt Industries will manufacture and deliver M870A4 trailers through 2032.

The M870A4 SLCET is designed to carry up to 40 tons (80,000 lbs.) of Engineering Construction Equipment (ECE), tactical vehicles, and other large payloads. Built for mobility, the trailer features a folding gooseneck and rear-folding ramps to support both front and rear loading operations. Its robust design allows it to perform in diverse climates, terrains, and operational environments.

This new award builds on years of successful collaboration with the U.S. Army, including the ongoing production of M870A4 trailers under an existing contract and extensive testing at the Aberdeen Test Center (ATC), which has validated the M870A4 system’s performance and reliability.
