    Education: 

    Associate Degree or High School Diploma with relevant secondary training and experience

    Relevant  Post-secondary Training (Weld Engineer, Weld Technology, or similar)

    CWI Training (optional but helpful)

    Tasks:

    • Set goals that encourage maximum arc time and weld deposition speeds
    • Set employee development goals (weld academies and other developmental programs)
    • Review time standards and provide time and setup estimates based on industry standards
    • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
    • Inspect first-piece, in-process and final inspections
    • Assign WPS to work orders
    • Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
    • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
    • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
    • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
    • Manages the day to day operation of the Shop
    • Supervises assigned staff (e.g. employee concerns/problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, performance appraisals, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring work assignments are complete and within department objectives.
    • Prepares a variety of reports and documents for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written support and/or conveying information.
    • Coordinating manufacturing needs with other departments and ensuring cost efficient operation of the reactor systems and ancillary equipment.
    • Assigns and organizes associates, ensures their safety, establishes priorities, builds teamwork, delivers training, holds team members accountable, leads by example, drives continuous improvement
    • Ensure materials and jobs are completed and data recorded accurately.
    • Monitor and provide training, resources and/or appropriate disciplinary action to ensure production and quality standards are met.
    • Understands, reviews and analyzes operating efficiency data to maintain and improve production efficiencies related to labor and production output.
    • Mechanically inclined/Mechanical Knowledge.
    • Hands-on experience with equipment troubleshooting & maintenance, forklift operations and general production work.
    • Monitoring employee performance of all plant personnel
    • Be willing to lead

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
    Directly supervises all employees in the department
